Channel 17 represents referral partners who do not have an overlapping audience with you due to geography or a vastly different vertical market, but have your potential customers in their community.  Partners can be collaborative, or paid, such as influencers.

Strategy For Use

You can expand your reach by identifying and working with referral partners who have within their community potential customers that you would not otherwise meet.

Additional Commentary

Working with an individual or entity that already has an established audience will give you much greater visibility than you will be able to achieve on your own.

 

Channel 17 Superstar:  Spinout Fitness
Spinout Fitness is the world’s first waterbike experience company in the world.  The bikes look like high-end racing bikes attached to pontoons.  When Damien McCloud first launched Spinout first started, he relied on partners to get the word out.  Their first partner was AirBnB, which advertised the waterbikes as an experience.  The reach of AirBnB is far beyond what a tiny local start-up could achieve.  Their second partner was BucketListers, a website that lists things to do in major cities.  These two strategic partners gave Spinout a running start.  Inviting visitors to give a review has resulted in hundreds of five-star reviews on Google, and the business began to soar!
